Brainstorm a list of possible contributors. Be sure to include every business you spend your money at. Not all businesses can donate cash. If they can’t, ask for a product donation and turn that into cash by inviting family and friends over for coffee and dessert and having a silent auction. This is a good exchange value for donors.

Contact an organization in your hometown like the Lions, Kiwanis, Rotary, Elks, Eagle, Boy Scout or Cinergy Club to ask if they would help you put on a fundraising supper, dance or auction. Fire Departments also do a lot of community work.

Ask friends, family and co-workers to save their returnables.
