Experience the Magic…

Mike & Darron at a Maniacs Hockey Game

In our own lives, each of us was touched by someone – other than our parents – who broadened our horizons and brought a little magic into our lives.  It may have been a neighbor, a family friend – an aunt or an uncle. Maybe it was your favorite teacher who told you what a talented artist you were, or that coach who shared your love of baseball.  Or maybe it was the “next door lady” who knew your name and remembered your birthday – and who just really liked you and made you feel special.

By becoming a Big Brother or Big Sister, you can give another child the opportunity to experience those same special feelings.  You can celebrate the joy of everyday moments, and bring magic into a child’s life – moments where you get back as much as you give, and know you enrich a life just by being there.

Big Brothers Big Sisters is about sharing Little moments and making Big magic.  It does not take any special training to be a friend and have a good time.  No talent is required to take a kid to his first baseball game or to spend an afternoon in the park.  Anybody can toss a ball, fly a kite, go for a walk, or watch old movies and pop some popcorn.  Anyone can be a Big – that is part of the magic of it.
